Custom Orthotics & Insoles — Victoria Park
Orthotics aren’t “one-size-fits-all” — and you shouldn’t need a bulky device that only fits one pair of shoes. At Victoria Park Podiatry, we prescribe custom orthotics and evidence-based prefabricated insoles depending on what will work best for your feet, your footwear, and your goals.
What are orthotics?
Orthotics (also called foot orthoses) are inserts designed to change how forces move through your feet and legs. They can reduce strain on painful tissues, improve comfort during sport or long work days, and assist with conditions that flare due to repeated overload.
Who may benefit
- Heel pain / plantar fasciitis
- Forefoot pain (metatarsalgia) and ball-of-foot burning
- Achilles and calf overload
- Knee pain influenced by foot mechanics
- Sports injuries where load distribution matters
- People on their feet all day needing better support
Our orthotic process
- Assessment — history, foot & ankle exam, gait and footwear review.
- Prescription — we choose the type of device and the features that match your condition.
- Fit & review — we check comfort, shoe fit and early response, then refine if needed.
Custom vs prefabricated insoles
Some people do brilliantly with a well-chosen prefabricated insole plus footwear changes. Others need a custom device to address more specific mechanics or higher loads. We’ll explain the pros/cons clearly so you can choose confidently.
